Donghua Cement Company of Shandong Energy Zibo Mining Group is implementing the country's first cement 'industrial brain' project. The project integrates cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence to automatically controls the clinker production line and to operate in an optimal state by establishing an eight-layer neural network. The goals include reducing energy consumption, reducing emissions, and improving product strength and stability.
In recent years, the cement industry has been labeled as “high energy consumption, restricted , and de-capacitied”. In addition, there are nearly 1,300 clinker production enterprises in the country, and the overall capacity utilization rate of the industry is only about 60%. On July 10, 2018, Donghua Cement and Alibaba Cloud Computing Company signed a cooperation agreement, and Donghua Cement invested 217 million yuan to implement “1+6 intelligent manufacturing engineering”project.
On March 4th, the 'industrial brain' under the command of big data began trial operation. Within a few days, the standard coal consumption was reduced by 3 kg/ton, the power consumption was reduced by 2 kilowatts/ton, and the standard rate of clinker compressive strength decreased by 5%. According to the annual output of 2.4 million tons of clinker, Donghua Cement saves 7,200 tons of standard coal, 4.8 million tons of electricity, 2,100 tons of water, and reduces carbon dioxide by 22,732 tons, nitrogen oxides by 342 tons, and sulfur dioxide by 684 tons. The economic benefit is more than 7 million yuan.
