Xintai, September 24 - Shandong Energy Xinwen Mining Group's first ground-controlled comprehensive tunneling machine was put into operation by Suncun Coal Mine, at the depth of 800 meters underground.
The machine is located in a challenging situation at a slope of about 20 degrees.
Due to the harsh conditions of excavation, remote visualization of the integrated excavator shaft has always been the pursuit for most mines, while remote control on the ground was deemed unattainable. The R&D team of Suncun has systematically re-modified an old excavator which was put into operation in 2008 with no intelligent function, armed it with integrated electro-hydraulic control system. After modification, the excavator could be operated independently on site, within or beyond the visual range underground, or remotely above ground.
The geological structure of Suncun is complex and the mine is familiar with natural disasters, especially rock burst. The realization of the remote control of the integrated excavator is a key step for future unmanned mining.
