At 13:00, November 12, Zang Shaoxian, a staff member of New Dragon Company, inspected Longmei's greenhouse and found that a "big bird" fluttered its wings in the woods. It was frail and unable to fly. He contacted the company's animal protection volunteer Han Kexin. Han determined that the big bird belongs to the order Silviformes, eagle family, with a body length of 67 cm and a wingspan of 184 cm. It is a second-class protected animal grassland eagle which was included in the 2012 China Red List of Endangered Species.
In recent years, the company's employees have twice rescued the national second-level protected animal like goshawk and white-bellied wren.
