On July 28th, Zaozhuang 2020 Environmental Emergency Response Drill was held in Lunan Chemical Company.
The drill simulated a leakage at the bottom of the ammonia tank of the of Lunan Chemical Company, which triggers the emergency response plan for environmental emergencies. The accident caused the liquid ammonia leakage to spread, leading to atmospheric hazard, and the large amount of waste water produced by putting out fire may impact the sewage treatment system, causing secondary environmental problems. While starting the internal emergency plan, Lunan Chemical Company reported the situation to the ecological environment authorities and requested technical support.
Subsequently, the control room reported the situation and notified the surrounding posts and construction personnel to evacuate, methanol-ammonia unit immediately initiated the Emergency Rescue Plan I. Meanwhile the ammonia storage leakage was worsening and could not be dealt with in close range. The company at once set up the on-site headquarter with the company's deputy general manager as commander-in-chief. The emergency groups immediately rushed to the rescue.
At the same time, Gao Xianguo, the commander-in-chief, dialed the emergency response number of Zaozhuang Ecological and Environmental Bureau. The Bureau dispatched its Tengzhou branch to take according actions.
After intensive rescue and relief, the leakage was successfully blocked, the danger was neutralized. After testing, no pollution was found in the atmosphere and downstream water quality, the alarm was lifted and the drill was over.
